PUB-6: Tasha Kaminsky’s Twitter posts on Israel/Palestine

Twitter thread by @tashakaminsky

Description

In a Twitter thread from March 13, Tasha writes extensively about Israel/Palestine, American Jewish institutions, and the occupation. She accuses Mouna of antisemitism for criticizing Israel, but her own posts reveal she holds similar or more extreme anti-Israel positions — positions she admits she adopted after dating Mouna. This undermines her claim that Mouna’s political views on Israel constitute antisemitism. Key excerpts:

“...your community and making jewish education more accessible. tell your rabbis you will stop giving to the shul if necessary.”

“4) start taking your money to american jewish organizations that are fighting netanyahu and the occupation. i give to @IfNotNowOrg, @jvplive, @JFREJNYC, and @JewishCurrents.”

“5) make reparations. it’s hard to be an american jew and not unintentionally (or intentionally) have supported the occupation and netanyahu. you have a duty to invest in palestinian liberation. i recommend giving directly to palestinians in need, as well as @cfpeace and @btselem.”

“6) be loud. talk. don’t shut up. force your jewish institutions and communities to reckon with the role they’ve played in the rise of netanyahu and the ongoing occupation of palestine. i know it’s scary, but if you don’t speak up who will?”

“7) demand that your local jewish institutions stop collaborating with @AIPAC. at this point it’s not radical at all to call for a cessation to all cooperation with aipac. there is no common cause between american jews and aipac.”

“8) don’t be silent when your friends and family talk about israel. keep the occupation at the front and center of the conversation. don’t let those close to you get away with the ‘usual’ talking points about ‘jewish democracy’. it’s not a democracy. it’s a coup. it’s apartheid.”
