They always have snarky comments or outright disrespectful things to say. Then they laugh as if it's a joke, and make fun if you get upset. You're not supposed to take it seriously. I could do it back to them, but I have no backup. My mom is on their side and Roger won't engage.

Yeah, I did that with the APPE students when this woman was trying to make me feel bad because she felt threatened by my presence. It definitely works.
I could do that too, but they honestly don't care what I say. They want to say what they want and anything I say is irrelevant to them. I might not even be there but just a picture of me and they would carry on the same.

She was going to join her school's rowing team, but Aida dissuaded her saying that it might make her look stubby since she is very short. Roger felt bad and told Sarah, "You know, you don't always have to listen to your mom." I don't think it got through because her mom has so much influence on her, but I know that Sarah has a spirit of resistance, so she will be okay! I hope she continues to give people hell!

This article is about a guy realizing that his public streaking is offensive and reinforcing patriarchy. I would only want to go to a nude event if it was only women there, preferably woc. Even then I'm not sure I would go, because I still don't really get the purpose. I don't think anybody would be liberated by seeing me naked and I don't think I would be liberated by seeing other people naked.

I think maybe these nude parties are more for white people than anybody else

I don't trust people with myself naked and that makes it scary because I'm more vulnerable without clothing. I don't trust men not to sexualize me. I don't trust white people not to fetishize me. And I don't trust women not to compare/compete with me.
If it was for a good cause, if I were helping people or myself, I could do it. But I don't see how I'd be helping anybody to be naked in front of them

I think if I was a fat woman or somebody with body image issues, it would make sense to feel accepted and validated in the nude and show confidence to inspire other fat people. In that case it makes a lot of sense!
But for me it doesn't make sense

These students are such flirts. I came to sit with the other students for lunch and right away one of the guys starts flirting. It was pretty uncomfortable because a woman at the table was not happy about him flirting with me. I don't know if they're dating or what, but it's the same woman who felt threatened by me earlier this week.
I don't mind attention sometimes, but I hate it when there are women around because then I get written off as the woman that guys want to flirt with rather than somebody who could be a good friend. I'd much rather just be one of the bunch!

Honestly I feel like I'm made into a joke that everybody is in on except me. Like, haha, Adriane is attractive so we're going to obnoxiously flirt with her instead of treat her like a regular person.

That's what happened to me when I moved to Illinois. Everybody talked about how i look and at first I thought the attention was nice until I realized that I was just a joke and nobody actually cared to get to know me.

I'm not even that attractive. It was mostly because I was tall and "exotic" looking

At the same time, I like dressing nice and looking good too. I don't feel like I should have to change that to be treated more like a human

Yeah, I mean the other woman at the table was a woc. But she is more normal looking so she fits in better. I think the fact that I'm tall and have have a big chest affects my sexualization. If I were average height and less dramatically proportioned, I think it would be different.

Interesting. One of the girls who made fun of me was a Mexican girl back in Illinois, but she was accepted as "one of the guys". I think perceived attractiveness plays a role. She was not perceived as attractive so she didn't get objectified in that way. Though I agree that woc of different appearances experience it.
