I'm really excited about moving in

I kind of want to do my rotations in St Louis. I'm really happy with you and us and I don't want to "throw it away", for lack of a better phrase, by moving to Florida.

But I know that statistically it's the smarter thing for me to do.

So actually, I just realized, this will be the second commune I've lived in. The first one was back in Florida when I moved in with a bunch of UCF students that were all part of habitat for humanity who were squatting in a house (the housing bubble hit Florida hard). It was really cool, cheap, and we had family dinners too!

I only lived with them for a few months over the summer, but they were pretty cool! They also were focused on being environmentally friendly and instead of paper towels, we used rags made from old t shirts and we just washed and reused them

I had been an active member of habitat, but got closer with them when I did the habitat collegiate challenge with them in Georgia. That's when they invited me to live with them!

I told Robyn I'm upset with her for not speaking out against racism

She said that she has had it hard growing up poor and having to care for herself and that everybody has their struggles

Robyn is now telling me more about her current struggle and saying I wouldn't understand because I have never had to worry about money.

I don't know what to say, because I want to be compassionate but I also don't think it's fair for her to derail things and make it about her struggle. That is a really white woman thing to do.

So awkward. This couple sitting with me are friends/colleagues, but there's also more. He's interested, she's semi-interested/curious. He tried to subtley flatter her and then use my presence to make her feel insecure, and that made her disinterested.

He tried to use the manipulative technique where you seem really interested and flatter the woman and then take away the attention to get her to want you more. Works even better if you use another woman to her jealous. Men are so gross. I have had it done to me before. All it did was piss me off though. He told me, "You know, you're not the most beautiful woman in this club?" I'm like "Really? Then you better go find her if that's what's important."

I hope this doesn't upset you too much, but I don't want to move in until break. I'm really stressed right now with school and changing my living situation during a stressful time just doesn't sound like a really smart thing for me to do. It would be a lot of work and add to my stress and if we waited this long, it won't hurt to wait longer. The rest of the schedule is still good.
