When I went to a conference in Cleveland with SNPhA, I got paired up with 3 Asian women to stay with in the hotel. It was so obvious that I made them uncomfortable. I think they were afraid I was a lesbian, which wouldn't matter, but I'm sure they're homophobic as well as racist.
